I love MS version Faeries.  I pulled this down and set random effects (autogenerate) to it.  I dont' really get all of the timing marks, but the timing is definitely interesting.  Thanks very much for sharing.

Timings were derived via Audacity Onset Detector. No doubt I would have manually created them differently. I suppose I would prefer to have a lot of different "interesting" sequences than just a few beautiful ones.

I still have a huge body of work to do to be ready for Christmas so I am furiously sequencing as I generally like have around 18 hours of different music. The addition of RGB and Nutcracker this year only adds to the joyful burden.

Using this method of sequencing (using Audacity timings) for Nutcracker and SS I can create almost one/two sequences per day. They are not beautiful or especially artistic but as was said, "interesting". When I use the same timings to create a sequence in SS that sequence includes my 96ch of led lights and the newly added 500+ rgb pixels. I can then take the led effects from SS and add to the RGB effects from Nutcracker. The sequences then becomes either a "ss" sequence or an "xl+ss" sequence in my nomenclature for naming the sequences. Two sequences, same timings, 2 different sets of RGB effects.

I am still learning and hopefully getting better. Some timings are too "tight" and have to be purposely loosened up. Some are too loose and must have additional timings added manually. Just learned how to manually edit my timings and add notes on the audacity side before exporting to Nutcracker

Always willing to share.

18 hours of music!!!  Wow.  That is just a TREMENDOUS volume of sequencing!    Holy smokes Batman.

I know I have read this somewhere, but I am not able to find via searches--isn't there a "repository" so to speak with shared xseq & xml files?   I looked at the nutcracker123 site but if the shared stuff is there I am not seeing it.  Thanks.

i include marked up timing files with each install.
for me they are found in the songs subdirectory under the install location
C:\Program Files (x86)\xLights\songs

there should be a README in each song subdirectory that shows where to buy the music that was used.

if people send me sequences (only the xml file), i will include them in this directory. this way they are distributed globally

Yep I see it now...   Stupid question here--should I keep my file structures/directories in the programs (x86)/xlights file structure?  I have been keeping my xlights files under documents so they are handy.  Thanks Sean.

No, make your own show directory.mif I use any timing marks from songs directory I copy the timing files and put them in the show directory. I think of songs as read only

here are some timing marks for "I know what your songs did in the dark" (light em up). after playing them threw nutcracker, they could possibly use some tweaking but it is a good start for someone.

here are the timing marks for an edited version of "happy". i bought the song on amazon and cut it off at the 02:02.068 mark. the last 2 minutes of the song is too repetitive so i shortened it to 2 minutes. these are hand tuned timing marks and land on just about every beat/note of the song. I also have beats and onsets for the full version of the song if any one wants them. here is the link for the song as well. hope it helps someone

remember if you post songs to share
1) Post the xml file
2) Post the link where the file can be bought from.

if you have edited teh original song,
3) post the audacity project file (*.aup).

i will collect and distribute them on the next downloads
