Where did you install xLights?  I believe there is an issue Keith is looking into where the Vamp installation has issues when not installing xLights into the Program Files area.  I would think you could just install using the QM Vamp instructions.  It took me a couple tries to get it working myself.

Yeah I spoke to David last night and we got him going manually. The issue is the vamp plugin install assumes you used the default path for XLights install.

Hmm...I never use the default either and I don't remember fixing it manually.  I do leave it under Program Files but I always rename the directory to have the version so that I can keep all the versions installed side by side.

As I recall the Vamp plugins just want to be in C:\Program Files or the x86 version depending on your bitness so I would suspect that those having issues are not using the C drive and/or default folder name.  It does not install in the xlights program directory.

Sorry to post in an old thread.

I have tried all of the suggestions listed above but I still can't get the plugins to show up in 64-bit version 2017.32.

in the previous post dwbarnett said that Keith explained the solution to him.  Anybody know what that solution is ????

As many have already said, this is extremely frustrating.

Hi dvc, Keith discovered Sean had left some files out of the install, I believe it was 9. That has since been fixed though.   The other issue I had, I had set some environment variables for the previous vamp plugins. I cleared those, then when Keith added the other 9 files...install was fine.

Sorry can't be of more help
Best,
David

This is one of those situations where we look in the log. Vamp loading is logged heavily there which tells us exactly what is going on.

Just the dozen or so lines that talk about loading vamp plugins near the bottom of the log.

Good Morning Keith-

This morning I upgraded to 2017.34 and still have the same result.  I probably missed it but I don't see a reference to Audacity in the log.

I attached the entire file.

This is probably something very simple but it's very very frustrating.

Thanks so much for any help you can give me.

That log has no vamp messages at all in it? Did you try to use Vamp just before grabbing the log? Its possible those messages are gone because so much else has gone on. I need a log which has vamp related messages to help.
