Hi Keith-

I don't know how to proceed.  I have no idea why there is no reference to vamp in the log.  I uninstalled xLights, Audacity and the Vamp plugins and reinstalled them but still not visible to xLights.

My "PROGRAM FILES" directory resides on my D: drive instead of the C: drive and xLights is on the H: drive.  Does that matter ???

I really haven't found any clear directions on how to install the Vamp plugins as far directory and path etc.  Sean talks about it in a couple of his videos but it still isn't clear to me how to get it to work.

I tried installing everything in D:\progam files\     but the result is the same, no Vamp plugins visible in xLights.

Any suggestions would really help.  I'm already dead in the water for Halloween tomorrow.

Thanks.

It does matter. If you want to install vamp on d drive then you have to set the vamppath to point to it.

OK, thanks.

I’m not a software guru so I’m not sure I know how to change the path. I’ll try and figure it out and let you know.

I Googled it and now I’m really confused.

Ok. Let's walk this through.

Download 64 bit vamp for windows. Install it in c:\program files\vamp.
Download and install c++ runtime.
Run 64 bit xlights.
Create a new sequence
Choose musical sequence and select a music track
Now go to add timings.

If the timings for vamp don't come up then go to tools view log and send me the log file.

Please do each and every one of these steps exactly as listed.

Keith.....I followed all of your steps exactly.

Still no go.  I attached the log files.  I don't see any reference to the vamp plugins, just a bunch of sequence errors due it being pointed to an old show directory after reloading xLights.

Ok.....can you give a quick explanation how to do that.

Sorry to be a pain but I just don’t understand why I’m the only one having this problem.

Rename the folder in explorer. The reason for your dramas was your use of the d drive. It is exceptionally uncommon.

Hi Keith-

Still a no Go.

I uninstalled xLights, Audacity & the vamp Plugins and reinstalled them on the C drive.  it made no difference at all, still no vamp timing marks in the timing menu.

the log file has an error line that says::

Unable to load library C:\Program Files\Vamp Plugins\qm-vamp-plugins.dll: 193

I verified that the path, directories and file name match.

I don't understand what to try next.  I may have move away from xLights if I can't resolve this within the next few days.  I need to finish Christmas sequencing but I really don't have time right now to learn a new program.

I attached the log file for your review.

Thanks again for all of the assistance.

Do you know how to open a Command Prompt?  Goto your search area on the taskbar and type "cmd" and it should find the command prompt program.  Run it then type "set" and hit enter.  Then right-click the top of the command prompt window and choose Edit -> Select All then Edit -> Copy and then paste the results here.  What we will look for is do you have anything in your PATH variable to points to the wrong vamp plugins location and where is your VAMP_PATH variable pointing.

Thanks Gil-

With that info I was able to fix the problem.  Somehow with all of my uninstalling, reinstalling & deleting things I ended up with both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the Vamp Queen Mary plugins.  The path was pointed to the 32-bit instead of the 64-bit version.  I removed both and installed the 64-bit version from the xLights home page.

And now all is GOOD.

A huge THANK YOU to both Keith and Gil for all of your help and patience.
