When I am adding in my Props I know what LOR Unit ID each one will be. I know how many channels each will occupy in xLights.
I have many in already and they are working in the House Preview in my test sequence beautifully.
I now decided to add in a prop (actually, I forgot it yesterday)..... it is on a Unit ID that falls between two of the ones I used yesterday ... but... the channel numbers that fall in between are already coded into props yesterday.
Example:
Unit ID 1 is my A/C Controller - so it uses 16 channels (currently on 1-4 are assigned to props - but I held 5-16 for future A/C prop use)
Unit ID 2-4 are not assigned so no channels assigned.
Unit ID 5 - 9 are RGB Flood Lights which each use 5 channels (so they now are in there as 17-21, 22-26, 27-31, 32-36)
Unit ID 20- 3B are all CCBs - 100 Bulb Pixel Strings (so they begin with Channel 42.......)
I want to add in 4 RGB CCR Arches which use Unit IDs 10-13 - so in LOR terms those fall between the Floods and the CCBs.
The real question is - does xLights care?
Can I just give it any Channels I want to no matter what the LOR Unit IDs are as long as those channels don't conflict with anything else I assign?
