Running LOR controllers in xlights
« on: November 15, 2018, 01:16:25 PM »
I am trying to use xlights to "run" LOR controllers. I have 6 CTB16PC controllers and 2 CMB24 RGB floodlight controllers for a total of 144 channels. I also have a Pixel tree and star running  on E131. I have attached screenshots of my setups to see if I have done this correctly. I have watched numerous videos, and have seen people describe it different ways. I will be outputting to my LOR controllers and CNB24 RGB through the lightorama usb485b with booster, and cat 5 to my e131.

Is it not working?  You didn't say.  Also that's a pretty slow baud rate I would use 115Kbaud as a minimum.

The issue I am having is in xschedule, and i have posted that thread under problems, when i am in xlights, and run test and check my lor lights, under the standard tab no lights function, if i use the rgb tab, then lor lights(which are not RGB) come on . If a bring up a sequence in xlights and play it with the lights output on, the LOR controllers work as expected. I didnt know if this was an issue or not, chalking it up to my unfamiliarity with xlights, but i have set up shows in xschedule and no data is showing up in the log going out to the LOR controllers, even though they work in xlights when I play the sequence. I am just checking to see if my setup is right or not, as the source of my xsxhedule issue

My bet is xschedule is not pointing to the same show folder as xlights.

Test not working correctly is a concern.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, and thanks for looking at what I have so far, Im at a loss as what to do next , i was hopeful to get it up this year, but i have my schedule built in LOR scheduler as well and all sequences in LMS files as well, so I am not crunched to get this done for this years lights, but I do want to transition to all xlights

Jump into zoom. There are a bunch of guys in there right now and every evening. Troubleshooting things in real time will get you a result much quicker.

go to xlights.org and look for the zoom link.  Follow the directions.  You really need to have a mike on your computer so you can talk to everyone.

The LOR outputs didn't start working in the Test tab until version 2018.35.  I couldn't tell what version you are running because you cutoff all the screenshots and you didn't say.

Im running 2018.44, when i look at the log, and im in no way claiming to have any computer knowledge, it seems like the packets of data start, for a 1 or 2 packets then stop

The output is designed to only send data when it actually changes so its perfectly normal to see it say it sent 0 bytes if you are for instance showing a static picture or solid color.  We only transmit when some of the bytes change value.
