Anyone see something like this?

Xlights Version 2021.38

I just added a DMX light to my layout.  I'm getting a flickering every once in awhile and the flicker seems to cycle between red, green, and blue.

I've cleared download and render cache, no change.
This occurred on the previous xlights version too.
This is an old sequence that I've updated yearly.
ON effect causes the issue.
Just tried BARS effect with only white and it does not flicker.    So this will be my work-around for now.

Uploaded video of the flickering in Xlights:  https://youtu.be/e56S4bzoo8M
Sequence file:  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NV_lKtmUfHeSBSMKR9jvkzM6L_pA_YhU/view?usp=sharing

Figured it out.

Right-click on model (while in sequencer tab), select Model, then the render and export option is available.  Phew!

I see "convert to effect" in the sequencer tab when I select an element, but it doesn't seem to create any file.  I can't seem to find documentation on this - must have missed it or are searching on wrong key words...

Bugs in xLights/Nutcracker / Re: Misunderstanding in Layering Effects?
« on: November 23, 2017, 06:42:54 AM »
Thanks Gil!  I was assuming I was missing knowledge on a new feature.  Might have to play with that a bit (later!)

I'm a bit confused this morning.  Working on a new song, and layering seems to be working differently than I recall.   I usually have my "All RGB" layer at the top since the other lower layers could overwrite the information.  Is this wrong?

I recorded a short video below to explain what I'm seeing.  I have an effect in my "All RGB" layer that's overwriting my Mega Tree layer (which is below it).  When I remove the All RGB effect, the mega tree works fine.  My solution right now is to add another layer in the mega tree that's black to cancel the All RGB effect, but I didn't have to do that previously.

- I do have render on save selected, but a separate render did not have an effect either
- I do have the render mode as erase (didn't touch it)

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Re: Black Areas in Meteors Effect
« on: December 13, 2016, 08:14:33 AM »
I have seen this too... if you span the effect for a period of time, there is a gap before the meteors come down.  It would be ideal if the meteors start immediately.

But you are also correct, you can start the effect a bit before you want them to come down, and layer it with other effects.  That's how I got around it.

That's fantastic news!  Really appreciate all the work to deal with issues such as these.  I have no idea how you guys do your day job!

I'll just chime in, and say I have seen this on several of my songs as well.  My songs are all less than 3 minutes, but seeing this in several of the songs from last year and now.   I also changed to all different rates (128,160, 192 etc) all CBR, but no luck.

Wondering if folks didn't see it as much because they were trying to troubleshoot the wrong thing?  Last year, I had been thinking there was something wrong with my FPP that was causing this.

This is difficult to resolve, since you have to "guess" where certain parts should be earlier than your normal timing marks, and always listen from the song from the beginning.  Rather frustrating when you're trying to sequence a song with elements on the beat!

It's funny, but that's actually our garage, not a second house!   We did go a bit crazy on it, but definitely will have enough room for hubby's hobby (mopar cars, needed lift), and storage / living area on top!  Garage is newly added.

Added the data files.  Hope that's what was missing.

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Timing lag within a song in Xlights
« on: December 30, 2015, 01:10:50 PM »
I'm hoping someone can help determine why this is happening.

I have a 2:40 song.  The longer the song goes, the more out of sync the beats are.  However, if I stop and re-start the song (instead of starting from the beginning), it on beat. I've created a short clip where the song goes awry.  Started the song from the beginning.  I then stop the song, and re-start at the beginning of the beats, and it seems ok.  Just for fun, I re-saved the mp3 in audacity again, verifying CBR (i use 128kbps), and updated the media file in xlights.  No change.

Video showing the time lag.    First part is from the sequence when playing from the beginning.  You can see the lag.  I then stop and re-start, and its on the beat.

This seems to be happening to other songs for me as well.  I'm using Xlights Ver 4.3.00, but i re-loaded the song in 4.2.15, and still seems to be there.   Any ideas?

Was able to get a somewhat similar function for the verticals I was using.  This wouldn't really work on a matrix, but thought I'd share:

Essentially curtain Open, using repeat and using Green and Red.  Swag speed matched number of beats.  And used repeat
