I did an XLights/FPP Zoom call today.  The issue is that FPP is NOT set up to handle single-channel nodes.  I was given directions for making a 3 channel node for 3 of my strobes.  Everything is now working perfectly.

I have 18 WS2811 Single Channel Nodes that I want to model in XLights.  They are being used as individually controllable strobes in a Mega Tree and are followed by a standard 88 node 3 layer star.  What is the best way for me to model these?  I am running these pixels from an FPP remote Pi Cap on a single output.

So I copied those three files again and loaded them on my workshop pc.  Everything is now working as expected.  I think I may have copied the files into the wrong folder last time.

Thanks for the help!

Do You Need Help? Post it here / What file is used to store the Layout?

I have a sequencing and workshop PC that I use for my light show.  I tend to not have my sequences on the workshop computer, but I like to keep my layout up to date.  I thought by copying the xlights_keybindings, rgbeffects, and networks files allowed me to keep my computers concurrent.  Recently I made a significant change to my layout on the Sequencing computer, but I have not been able to get my Workshop computer to update to the same layout.  Is there another file I need to copy?

Issue Solved - I had only set the vendor not the Model on the problem controllers.  As soon as I set that the issue disappeared.

While there are ways you can fix it ... best wait for v9 which will address it.
I just updated to v9.  I had a couple of my Pixelsticks set to unicast when I did the update and the rest were set as Multicast.  The Pixelsticks that were set to unicast show a port in Visualize,  but the units that had been set to Multicast do not show a port in Visualize even after updating them to Unicast.

What next?

Thanks Keith

I'm sure it is me but after watching the video on using visualize and making the update to 2020.8 I am having an issue that the ESPixelSticks I have set up do not show an output port in Visualize.  Suggestions?

Should I be reporting this problem anywhere else? Found the thread on reporting problems, following those instructions.

I plan to update my Arches this year from 8 segment Dumb RGB arches to Boscoyo 3 Ring Pixel Arches.  My plan was to set up submodels to simulate the current 8 segments.  Is there a way for me to have the new arches receive the commands that were programmed for the old arches?

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Re: 3 newest sequences broken

I found that my old sequences were set at 50ms, and my three new sequences I did at 25ms.  I had not changed the settings on my Renards to handle my 256 channels at that refresh rate, I needed to lower the refresh rates on these sequences.  By going to Sequence Settings I could have xLights change my refresh rate down to 50ms.  Then with a render and save I was good to go with my three sequences.

Thanks xLights team for making the solution to my mistake so simple!

Which file contains the Model and Submodel Data?  Is there a Backup of this file?  I have wiped out some submodels that I created for a sequence and would like to try to restore them rather than recreate them.

I am using xLights, RaspPi with FPP 2.5, outputting to an RS-485 adapter to run my approx 256 Renard Channels and to a Falcon F4V3 board and remote receiver boards. I removed control of the Renards from the F4V3 board last weekend as I was getting Phantom flashing in some of Renard Channels. Now all of my Renard channels are working perfectly, except in the three sequences I created this year. All of the other sequences are playing perfectly.

I have tried rerendering the sequences in xLights and uploading them to the Pi to replace the files that were there, but I saw 0 change.  I can control the problem areas of the display properly when I use FPP's display testing.

Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Very familiar with it.  I was off of Nokesville Rd.  Happy Blinky Flashy!
