Re: 2019.18 LOREDIT Import – Issue one.

When mapping my props from S5 to my existing models in xLights there were 56 props were missing.  I am attaching and XML files of the <PropClass> tags that were not available for mapping.  I could not find any pattern.  Some were RGB while others were AC props.  Let me know there is any additional information or research on this issue.

Did they have the effects on them?

Latest windows 64 bit files with more S5 import fixes are here:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/lu5p6pizjarvjas/AACZpCFWm7whvMQSO4gtyiTpa?dl=0
Place both files in c:\program files\xlights (or wherever you have installed xLights 64 bit)

I have tested with both sets of the new files (dates 3/26 and 3/27) you sent me and neither of them imported the effects from LOR.  To  simplify I created a new simple one prop LOR S5 sequence and tried to import that in to a new simple one model xLights show and got the same results.

Attached you will find a word doc that has screen shots of my test case.  Also attaching the LOREDIT, Xmap, Saved xLight seq files (xml&fesq) and rgb effects for your review.

I need your networks and proper rgbeffects files (not the backup)

Did you drill down to the node level to see if the effects were there?

Did you render and play to see if it played?

I down loaded your files added a single node model. imported your floodlight ... no issues.

I was not aware that the models broke down to the String-Node levels in the sequencer.   And I am not sure on the rendered, but think I did.  So after learning that, I retested the single prop test and it worked.
What I had sequenced in LOR came over for the flood light, just at the node level.

When I went to back to the phantom sequence, I also saw the effects import over (note-props from LOR are still causing crash dumps, but one thing at time).  But what was a "fill" in LOR mapped to a DMX effect in xLights.

Let me take some screen shots an match up the XML of where it went wrong.  I will post the results as soon as I can.

Hmm...I can't find anywhere in the code where an imported effect can create a DMX effect so not sure where that is buried.

To both you and Keith.

I think the fill was named DMX_INTENSITY in LOR and translated to DMX in xLights.   please see the attached doc for my screen shots and explanations.

Well DMX isn't necessarily the wrong effect here I just can't find anywhere in the code where we create a DMX effect on import.  But Keith did give you unreleased builds so maybe that code is not visible to me yet.  We had discussed using DMX effects for LOR's DMX Intensity effects because the On effect only goes from 0-100% so it cannot represent every value between 0-255 whereas the DMX effect can.

Yeah dmx intensity does map to dmx for exactly the reason Gil mentions.

You say it crashes but I need the mapping you are using to get it to crash. I know the layout and s5 setup is familiar to you but I don’t know what maps to what. So I need the xmap file you are using when you crash it.

My original report of this was 2019.18 LOREDIT Import – Issue two.
« Reply #41 on: March 26, 2019, 09:46:02 AM »

But now I think its more than those original nine.  Are there any clues I can look at in the dump files in the zip file the might point to a problem prop?

Else I will go back to adding one by one until they crash and provide the mapping for the crash.

Thanks in advance.

I don't feel LOR S5 had an equivalent prop like the DMX model in xLights.  I am trying to see if any other effect in LOR used the DMX_INTENSITY setting to control the prop.  If not could that setting be mapped to the the appropriate effect in xLights?

For kicks and giggles I took an old LMS file from a S4 sequence and it translated XML_INTENSITY to ColorWash in xLIghts.

XML from LOR S4 (lms):
<effect type="DMX intensity" startCentisecond="140" endCentisecond="300" startIntensity="0" endIntensity="128"/>

XML from save xlights XML:
<Effect ref="1" name="Color Wash" id="3" startTime="1400" endTime="3000" palette="3"/>

Fill in LOR and Fill in xLights are 2 completely different effects.  Also the DMX effect works on any model.  It just sets channel values it does not require a DMX model.
