Grab the custom data model with all pixels shown...when you go into the Layout Tab...in the bottom left dialog box there's a line with "faces" which will allow you to set the nodes you will use for each phenomes.  After that, use the embedded papagayo in xlights to do all the hard work.

Gil...I erased everything on the Mac....reinstalled the newest version and created a folder, dropped my files in and everything worked as expected. I'm guessing he might have fiddled with something prior to us trying the first time.  Anyways, whatever problem I had has been solved.  Thanks very much for your help!

Yes...we highlighted the eye and un-highlighted the eye and no luck.

We have "built in all models" and "built in my display" showing under the model groups. We can create new models which show on the house preview but it isn't loading anything from the PC file. We have opened the RGB effects file and there is data in there. We are both currently using version 34. There are no element names listed on the screen at this time. Next steps or any ideas?

Using 2016.34 on both systems.

Do You Need Help? Post it here / PC to Mac Migration - Models missing
« on: June 28, 2016, 02:59:04 PM »
Have a friend who is interested in helping sequence my show this year (no...no one else can be his friend this year!).  Only issue is he has a Mac and I use a PC.

We've downloaded the MAC version of the software and set up the folders on the mac and copied the xlights_rgbeffects.xml, xlights_networks.xml, and xlights_keybindings.xml files over to the MAC system as well as one of the songs I was working on. I can open the sequence in xlights, but none of my models are showing on the preview on the MAC.  Any tips/tricks/suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Bugs in xLights/Nutcracker / Re: Channel start causes crash
« on: April 29, 2016, 08:11:32 PM »
I had the same issue.  Think it's something in the beta software.  I just went into the xml file and used notepad++ to manually edit my start channels for each model.  I'm sure as the development team gets closer to a release version they will get this fixed.

Newbie on here...not so new to the scene...I just assumed I was doing something wrong because I didn't see anyone else with the issue.  I edited it all in notepad and I'm good to go now.  Thanks guys!

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Channel Numbering
« on: April 17, 2016, 08:59:33 AM »
Okay....so I simply went through and laid out my entire house on the layout tab.  Now I'm attempting to go back and assign starting channels to each element and it keeps crashing whenever I attempt to change the "MegaTreeR:1" to an absolute number.  What in the world am I missing?  I don't even get a crash report...just comes up saying Not Responding and I have to force close.  Anyone had this before? Ways to overcome?

Thanks....

The Water Cooler / Re: Chase across AC (non RGB) elements?
« on: September 10, 2015, 04:44:36 PM »
If you create a model group with the objects that you're trying to chase, then drop the chase effect on that group, you should be good to go.  I have some LED minitrees that I have in a group and I can apply chases, fades, etc to all of them quickly and easily.  Watch the video referenced, but think of each pixel as an individual string.

So I've "borrowed" someone's sequence and played with it to make it work with my set up.  However, everytime I go to save it, I get the notice attached.  I did change the path in the xml file to the path where it's located on my computer, but it still comes up with this error...any ideas?

Thanks Sean...guess idiot was the word that fits.  Guess I was "lucky" when I did this before and was hoovering over the right thing and clicked at the right time.  Everything works now!  Thanks!
